“Breast cancer” is a commonly used label for any malignant tumor that developed in this organ. But breast tumours can be very heterogenous.
They all have in common cells with genetic errors that form new, abnormal tissue. Neoplasia - the formation of a new, abnormal growth (From the Greek neo=new, plasia=growth)
But they also have very different characteristics, crucial when deciding the most adequate treatment to each case, to each woman.
