Anatomy
The structure of the breast is surrounded by an anatomy that supports its function.
Under the breast, between the ribs, we can find the muscles responsible for the movement of the arm and shoulder blades.
Bundles of ligaments stretch from the skin to the muscles giving shape and structure to the breast and supporting the mammary gland.
The skin is innervated by nervous fibers that make it sensitive to stimuli, while also connecting the nervous system to the muscles and blood vessels of the breast.
Two systems of fluids irrigate the breast internally: the blood system delivers hormones and nutrients to the organ, while both the blood and the lymphatic system collect substances to be discarded.
