Blood cells count
Chemotherapy can affect the bone marrow and its production of blood cells such as white and red blood cells, and plaquets.
Their numbers might be lower than normal between treatments.
However, if they are too reduced you become vulnerable to infection, anemia or even hemorrhages (bleedings).
In that case, your doctor might have to adjust the treatment dose, or delay the next treatment until you recover. Though ideal, this is common with chemotherapy.
An infection might need antibiotics, and a strong anemia a blood transfusion, but in general the body recovers by itself.
